ABOUT LAWREN

Lawren is a Michif/Métis woman born and raised in North Battleford, Saskatchewan. Lawren was raised in a traditional Métis family by her mother, auntie, and grandparents. She graduated from North Battleford Comprehensive High School in 2010 and the following September she attended the University of Saskatchewan where she completed her first degree in Sociology with a minor in Crime, Law, and Justice Studies in 2015. Shortly after graduating from Sociology, Lawren attended the College of Law at the University of Saskatchewan where she obtained her Law Degree in 2018. Immediately after her law degree, Lawren began her Master of Laws (LLM) degree at the University of Saskatchewan. The title of her master's dissertation is “The Prairie Province Epidemic: A Cry for the Meaningful Inclusion of the Indigenous Perspective into the Sentencing of Indigenous People and Gladue.” Lawren convocated in June of 2022 with her LLM. In June of 2019, Lawren returned to her hometown of North Battleford, Saskatchewan to article with the Ministry of Justice in Prosecutions. In May of 2020, Lawren was called to the bar and began working as a Crown Prosecutor with North Battleford Prosecutions. Since January of 2022, Lawren has been working with Matrix Law Group in North Battleford.

Lawren is also a Part-time Assistant Professor at the College of Law at the University of Saskatchewan and has been teaching since May of 2021.
